Below is a great recap of the new export tools for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

New Export Tools for SMEs

Evidence shows that firms that export grow faster than those that do not. Canada's Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) understands this and has recently launched several new practical tools to assist Canadian SMEs export their goods and services more easily. These tools help SMEs develop their export knowledge and capabilities; they include an E-Commerce Guide, a Trade Barrier Registry, and the Canada Tariff Finder.

New guide to help Canadian firms navigate Cyberspace

Are you harnessing the power of online shoppers? Spotlight on E-commerce is a new guide from the TCS designed to help companies become better prepared to navigate the world of e-exporting, while avoiding some common mistakes. This Spotlight can help your company stay informed with the right resources to effectively sell to consumers around the world through digital platforms. Access the Spotlight on E-commerce to learn more.

New Trade Barrier Registry

Is a trade barrier holding back your export business? Perhaps a licensing or product labelling requirement is preventing you from trading goods. Or, a foreign government is imposing a tax on your product that increases the cost of landing your product. If this is the case, then the TCS may be able to reduce or resolve trade barriers or even prevent them from happening. The TCS, working with partner departments, can examine a specific context and talk the issue through with overseas agencies. Register a trade barrier and the TCSwill assist you.

New Tariff Finder

The new Canada Tariff Finder tool verifies the tariffs applicable to your product in a foreign market and identifies the reductions that may apply to your products according to Canada's free trade agreements.
